LIGHT MY FIRE
Feelings are an essential part of my work. I often try to capture certain feelings in my installations and artworks. As a child who grew up in the heart of a big city, it is very special for me to be outside in the mountains. It's an important contrast to the fast-paced life in Berlin. Here you have the feeling that everything is moving slowly and you can stop and breathe for a second.
For the artwork of the Skibootique shop window, I came up with a design that captures exactly that for me. The installation "Light my Fire" shows an abstract mountain silhouette with the first rays of sunlight falling through its crest.
The artwork: "Light my fire" grew organically over a period of 11 days. My rough concept was to create a dynamic structure. In the artwork is good to see that my environment has a strong influence on my creative work. By chance, I recognized a mountain in the structure and then had the idea to transform the shop window into an abstract mountain landscape. I find it exciting to break away from my concept and make creative decisions in the dynamics of creating. Going new ways is the part of my work that I enjoy the most.
Merlin Strolz is someone I really enjoy working with. The Skibootique concept breaks with convention and lets customers create their unique work of art in the form of a ski boot. Playful and creative, yet made with the highest precision of the most modern equipment.
